Have a funny story to share with me about the time you poured Pop Rocks in your sister’s can of Tab? Want to stump me with a 1980s trivia question? (I welcome the challenge.) Upset that I’ve unleashed a childhood memory you had hoped to safely repress? Drop me an email.
How is it that you are writing my very thoughts about my OWN life in this blog? LOL! Thanks for the memories relived, from teen idols and Cusack to the Christmas wish book, which became concrete evidence that Santa Claus was a phony. I’m signing on as a Pepper.
Thanks, Nancy! I love that you read deeper into my blog. My mentoring post that was recently featured on WordPress.com doesn’t really define my usual blog posts — which are mostly just fluff about growing up in the ’80s :)
I nominated Childhood Relived for the One Lovely Blog award!

Thank you! I am grateful for the recognition and glad to have found your funny blog.
Okay, now that I’ve skimmed over some of your blog, I’m definitely coming back. You crack me up :) Humor, sarcasm, nostalgia, and we’re both elementary school-published writers (I have my own laminated copy of a fairytale I wrote in 4th grade).
Thanks, DL! That “school-published writer” fact better be on your resume. That’s nothing to sneeze at.
Hey Angie, I thought you’d find this article interesting:
http://www.cracked.com/article_19744_6-popular-childrens-books-that-teach-kids-horrible-lessons.html
Awesome! I have stumbled upon this site at least one other time and I remember it’s pretty damn funny. I never grew up reading that first creepy book but someone bought it for my kids. So I read it. A lot. They seem to love the idea of an old woman taking a ladder up to her adult son’s upstairs bedroom and picking him up while he sleeps. Icky. This was just spot-on hilarious. Thanks for sharing.
Heads up: I just nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award (as honorable mention, only because I think you have more than 200 followers). LOL! Check out my blog when you have time and see what you have to do next.
Thanks, Cathie! That’s super nice of you. I will check it out…
Hey Angie. Because I’m kind of an idiot, I think I axed some people off of my follow thing. Did you get my “Half Dome” post? I think I axed S7 too! My “follow comments” box started defaulting to “follow” and I was getting like a thousand comments a day, so I was trying to clean up. Let me know when you have a minute.
Thanks!
Les
I’m pretty sure I did get it because I have a new BBB post open on my computer at home (along with three other posts I was going to read tonight). Did you publish this just yesterday or maybe Monday? A lot of WP users were having that problem with receiving all the comments to every post they visited. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.
Okay cool. You don’t have to “like” it or comment, just want to make sure I didn’t axe a bunch of people by bumbling around trying to get some other people’s comments to stop! It was pretty much a non-post anyway, because I was in Yosemite, losing my grip on the WP scene.
I’ll be over tonight. Throw some brews in the fridge; I don’t like them warm.
I’m thinking of losing my grip on the WP scene soon. Good for you.
Angie, Sorry I referred to you as “he” , I changed that in the comment on my blog.
No problem, Iris!
Why are your comments closed? I didn’t accidentally leave that My Little Pony Horse head gif in your inbox did I?
Hi! Thanks for asking! I just closed the comments on my most recent post since I was directing people over to Speaker7. That My Little Pony Horse head would be a pleasure to receive in my bed (Godfather-style) so no worries there.
Well just let me know if yous needs a favor, eh?
Came across your blog while reviewing criteria for Freshly pressed (Saturday morning cartoons)- I’m hooked. I’m a huge 80s fan – and yes my wedding will feature that music! Especially loved John Cusak ones. Re: Sat morning cartoons – do you remember when they had that “prime time” preview for the fall season… that was great! I also enjoyed Thunder Cats in my middle school years and would watch after school with some of the guys down the block (I was a tom boy) later we’d reinact all of the scenes. Also loved Smoo, and while not cartoons, LOVE LOVE LOVE Sid and Marty Krofft’s Sigmund the Seamonster – I was even Sigmund when I was 6 for halloween. ;) Thanks for the memories – or maybe better said, thanks bringing back the memories. ;)
Aw, thanks for reading my blog! I can tell you’re a kindred spirit! I totally remember the cartoon fall season preview — did they show it on Friday night? I can’t remember that part. Every fall brought such excitement in anticipating the new line-up of cartoons.
Stop by any time and we’ll reminisce together!
They did show it on a Friday! (Good memory.)
One other memory that I’ve rekindled via a great candy store – fizzies.. You add them to water to make a flavored drink. (If you drink it fast enough you can enjoy the bubbles.)
Oh the past… :) So much more fun, so much easier.
Keep up the great blogs!
I am a new blogger .. found your blog interesting :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Your welcome… I would be really glad if you support me by giving your regular feedback on my blog, as I am a fresh blogger. :)
Hi! I’ve nominated you for the One Lovely Blog award. You totally deserve it!

Thank you for this!
Hi, Angie! I loved your childhood food mascots post last week and included it in my weekly favorite post roundup. If you want to check it out, here’s the link: http://ateachablemom.com/2012/11/11/lessons-learned-vol-five/
Angie! Congratulations on your Freshly pressed!!! I’m impressed!
You do such a great job – I especially enjoy your video Friday’s… you inspire me to keep my blog going by putting yourself out there!
Keep up the great work! (From one 70’s kid to another!)
K
Thank you for your kind words! And you inspire me to get back to doing my Friday videos. I’ve taken a break from that segment for a few weeks. Just for you this Friday, I’ll dig something up.
Thank you… I commented – I LOVED seeing it. And now I feel special – Just for me! :)
(Hey… curious did you get Freshly Pressed not once but twice!! – If so nice JOB! (I’d thought I’d found you from your first FP).
Looks like I’m contacting you again… Just thought of a toy – It was this big “lifesize” – at least at the time – punching back… It was a clown face I think. Until Poltergeist I never had negative feelings for clowns. I think this was something along the lines of punching bag Charlie? Then as I saw a new “toy” commercial – It looks like “Slime” is coming back – of course not called that. I had Slime and Slime with worms – All pre-Nicolodian days where that green slime made it.
You continue to inspire me – if not nag when I have posted and you’ve posted a bunch. BTW that nagging is in my head NOT from you… It says… see yet another inspired blog! Just get to it girl!
Keep at it!

Bang – Nominated!!
Where have you been?!
Ha! Thanks for noticing. Having a baby, caring for a baby. That kind of stuff :)
So had to write. Finally had great mystery solved re: Mr. Turner on Boy Meets World. More an 80s/90s kid show, but still in your realm!
Enjoy!!
